Ange Postecoglou, manager of Celtic, has not confirmed or denied rumors that the team is interested in signing South Korean striker Cho Gue-Sung.

Gue-Sung made a strong impression at the World Cup Finals in Qatar and is expected to move to Europe.

In recent transfer windows, Postecoglou has made signings in other areas, but it is believed that the team is looking to bring in a new striker.

Postecoglou has a good reputation in Asia, with Ki Sung Yeung having put Celtic on the map in South Korea a decade ago.

Transfers cannot be officially registered until January 1, but announcements of signings can be made at any time.

Behind the scenes, the team is working to add more players, with a new striker a priority.

He added: “Who’s that? No, like I just said we are working on a few things.

“If and when they get done, you’ll hear about them. But right now we are not sort-of close enough to think that we need to say anything. That may change soon.”

Gue-Sung is understood to be on Celtic’s wish list, but Postecoglou has not commented on the rumors.

It is not known how long Gue-Sung is under contract with Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, but as he turns 25 next month, a move to Europe seems likely.
