Bayern Munich to edge City in the UCL – here’s why

Bayern Munich vs Manchester City

The UEFA Champions League is heating up, and one of the quarter-final fixtures that has captured the attention of football fans worldwide is the clash between Bayern Munich and Manchester City.

Both teams have been in fine form in the competition, but there are a few reasons why Bayern Munich may have the edge in this tie.

1. Unbeatable Bayern

Bayern have had an absolutely perfect start to the Champions League this season. They won all eight of their group stage matches, and only Viktoria Plzen managed to breach their defense, scoring two goals against them. Bayern Munich has been unstoppable in the competition so far, scoring a total of 21 goals while conceding just two. They have defeated some of Europe’s top teams, including Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, and Inter Milan. This form makes them the team to beat in the competition.

2. The Tuchel factor

Thomas Tuchel has proven to be one of the best coaches in Europe in recent years. He led PSG to their first-ever Champions League final in 2020, and he also guided Chelsea to the title in the 2020/21 season. Tuchel’s tactical nous and man-management skills make him a formidable opponent. His appointment as Bayern’s head coach during the international break in March raised some eyebrows, but he has already made an impact, as seen in their recent 4-2 win over Dortmund in Der Klassiker

3. Leroy Sane’s resurgence

Leroy Sane has been one of Bayern Munich’s key players this season. He has scored four goals in the Champions League so far, making him their top scorer in the competition. However, his form had been on the decline before Thomas Tuchel’s appointment. But with Tuchel’s man-management skills, Sane has rediscovered his form, as seen in his recent performance against Dortmund. Tuchel’s playful boot up Sane’s backside seems to have done the trick, and if Sane can continue his fine form, Bayern Munich will be a force to reckon with.

4. Mane’s record against City

Sadio Mane is another player who could be crucial for Bayern Munich in this tie. The Senegalese forward has a great track record against Manchester City, scoring 10 goals in 19 appearances against them during his time at Liverpool. His ability to find the back of the net in big games makes him a dangerous player for any opponent. With Tuchel’s guidance, Mane could be a key player for Bayern Munich in this tie.

5. Bayern’s attacking riches

Bayern Munich boasts of some of the best attacking talents in Europe. They have players like Joshua Kimmich, Kingsley Coman, Thomas Muller, Serge Gnabry, and Alphonso Davies, who can create and score goals at will. Even their backup striker, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, has proven to be a valuable asset for them. With so many attacking options, Bayern Munich has the ability to hurt Manchester City’s defense.
