Kalonzo tells Ruto to respect the Kenyatta family

President William Ruto has been advised by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka not to harass former First Lady Mama Ngina and former president Uhuru Kenyatta.

Kalonzo reflected on the past and noted that former political figures respected the Kenyattas and earlier presidents.

According to Kalonzo, Mzee Jaramogi Oginga Odinga worked to secure Mzee Jomo Kenyatta’s release from the Kapenguria incarceration.

He claimed that the Kenyattas were respected by the late former president Daniel Moi.

Ingawaje kulikuwa na siasa, Moi hakudhulumu jamii ya Kenyatta,” he said.

Kalonzo added that the late president Mwai Kibaki, respected his predecessor Moi.

“I remember Kibaki instructing former Minister of Transport Chris Murugaru and then Minister of Land to give a land title deed to Moi as a show of respect.”

Kalonzo grieved that Ruto was going after Mama Ngina to pay what he called “death tax” on inherited property.

“Hii ni kodi ya kifo. Yaani unataka kutoa ushuru watu wamekufa?” he posed.

The co-principal of Azimio noted that the early legislators eliminated taxes on inherited land for a reason.

He questioned why the current administration was tormenting Uhuru to the extent that his security was scaled down.

The former vice president denied rumours that the former president’s security detail included more than 100 police officers.

“That is a lie. We are watching.”
