Korogocho MCA arrested by DCI officers at NCIC offices

MCA Absalom Odhiambo was detained by police on Monday as he waited to speak with representatives of the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC).

He was sought for allegations of incitement. This is in reference to the rally that took place last week at Nairobi’s Kamukunji grounds.

It’s unclear why he is required specifically. According to sources, he was transported to DCI headquarters for questioning prior to the proposed prosecution.

Online protests about the police’s decision to send undercover cars to NCIC erupted, with many accusing them of making a statement in support of police impunity.

At the Kamukunji rally, thousands of people showed up to protest political injustices, particularly the results of the election.

Odhiambo was summoned by NCIC for allegedly making inciteful comments during the rally.
