Duke Mainga Ondiba has been appointed by Agriculture and Livestock Development Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi to serve as the board chair of the trustees of the commodities fund.
Ondiba served as an executive for Kisii Culture, Sports, Youth, and Social Services in the past.
“ The Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development appoints Duke Mainga Ondiba Echate to be the chairperson of the board of Trustees of the Commodities Fund, for three years effective February 10, 2023,” the notice read.
On a UDA ticket, Duke Mainga ran unsuccessfully for the Bomachoge Borabu MP seat.
Through the same notice, the CS revoked Danson Ngaari Mwangi’s appointment.
The CS cancelled the appointment of a board member to the New Kenya Co-operative Creameries Limited in a related gazette notification.
“The Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development revokes the appointment of David Maina Kamiru as a member of the Board of Directors of the New Kenya Co-operative Creameries Limited,” the notice read.
On May 3, 2019, former Industry, Trade, and Cooperatives CS Peter Munya named David Maina to the board of the New Kenya Co-operatives Creameries.
