Manchester United vs Brighton: A clash of records and form

Brighton have won their last two Premier League games against Manchester United, but they have never won three league games in a row against them before. Additionally, they have never done the league double over the Red Devils.

Manchester United have lost three out of their five Premier League games against Brighton at the Amex Stadium, making it their highest loss rate at any ground they’ve played at more than once in the competition.

Manchester United have struggled in their away games, winning just one out of their last 13 Premier League away games against sides starting the day in the top half of the table.

They have also failed to keep a clean sheet in any of these 13 games since October 2021.

Brighton has recently improved their midweek Premier League games, winning three out of their last four, which is as many as they won in their previous 31 such fixtures.

However, they did lose their most recent midweek game against Nottingham Forest.

Manchester United has a good record on Thursday games, having lost just one out of their 11 Premier League away games played on that day. They are unbeaten in their last nine such matches.

Manchester United has kept seven clean sheets in their last ten Premier League matches, the joint-highest in the league since February 12th.

They have kept a total of 26 clean sheets in all competitions this season, with only Barcelona keeping more across the top five leagues in Europe in 2022-23.

Brighton’s Pascal Groß has scored six Premier League goals against Manchester United, which is more than he has scored against any other opponent.

Only Mohamed Salah has scored more against the Red Devils since Brighton’s first Premier League campaign in 2017-18.

Bruno Fernandes has been involved in 74 Premier League goals (42 goals, 32 assists) since his debut for Manchester United in February 2020, which is 21 more than any other Red Devils player (Marcus Rashford, 53).

Danny Welbeck has been in great form, being involved in six goals across his last six Premier League appearances for Brighton at the Amex Stadium.

He will be hoping to score in three consecutive home appearances in the competition for the first time since January 2014, when he played for Manchester United.

Additionally, Welbeck is one of only two players to have scored three Premier League goals against Manchester United having previously played for them in the competition, along with Wilfried Zaha.
