Reading’s Andy Carroll made it to the EFL Team of the Week despite not scoring in their recent match against Bristol City.
Andy Carroll has scored seven goals so far this season, which makes him second in the team after Tom Ince. As an ex-England player, he is a crucial part of Paul Ince’s squad.
The former West Ham player was joined by Josh Laurent, another former Reading player, in the Team of the Week.
Carroll’s header led to Lucas Joao’s equalizing goal, causing jubilation among the 1900 travelling fans.
His WhoScored rating of 8.2 contributed to his seven Man of the Match awards. In fact, this was his third successive Man of the Match title, having received it following Reading’s loss to Millwall and their draw with Hull City.
Besides Reading, other teams that were represented in the EFL Team of the Week were Birmingham City, Stoke City, Millwall and Huddersfield Town. An incredible six players from Stoke City were included in the team after their 4-0 victory against Coventry City.
