President William Ruto must vacate State House, according to Azimio leader Raila Odinga.
Raila outlined reasons why Ruto is unqualified to serve as Kenya’s president during his speech at the Kibra rally on Sunday.
“Our stand remains that Ruto did not win the elections. He got into State House by hijacking and subverting the will of the people. He must get out,”
The ODM leader went on to accuse Ruto of treating the rule of law with disrespect and said the Kenya Kwanza regime was unsuitable to govern Kenyans.
Raila asserted that Ruto had constructed the reverse of the “mama mboga” administration advocated by the Kenya Kwanza party.
“Ruto promised a poor man’s government, only to unveil a government of billionaires that has no room for the poor,” he said.
Raila continued by accusing the administration of breaking its commitments to lower the high cost of living, claiming Kenyans had been rewarded with the most “I don’t care” leadership.
The leader of Azimio emphasised that Ruto and his Kenya Kwanza allies had failed to offer Kenyans a way to combat inflation.
“Ruto found our people with a little in their pockets. Now that little is being taken away,”
Raila added that the President had acknowledged the issues that hustlers faced but had only added to them.
“Instead of lifting people out of poverty, Ruto is pushing more into poverty,” he said.
Reiterating his lack of concern for Kenyans, Raila advised them to remember that it was their right and responsibility to reject the Ruto administration.
